ChinaFLUX 20th Anniversary Conference was successfully held in Beijing on February 16-17, with experts and scholars from different research institutes and universities attending the conference. We were also pleased to receive video messages from many overseas experts.
CAS Academician Guirui Yu, Chairman of ChinaFLUX, expressed his gratitude to the government departments, research institutions and people from all walks of life who have supported and cared about ChinaFLUX for 20 years, and gave a systematic explanation of ChinaFLUX observation research and future development goals.
CAS Academician Bojie Fu from the RCEES and other experts gave invited presentations at the conference, Dr. Trevor Keenan from FLUXNET, Prof. Kazuhito Ichii from AsiaFlux also gave speeches and presentations via video.
We held 6 sessions: (1) ecosystem carbon and nitrogen water flux patterns, dynamics and environmental response; (2) river water fluxes and their driving material cycling processes; (3) remote sensing of ecosystems; (4) variability, adaptation and function of plant functional traits; (5) ecosystem carbon and nitrogen cycles and global change; (6) ecosystem model simulation and integrated analysis. These sessions attracted more than a thousand researchers and graduate students. There were full discussions on different research directions and good responses were received.
The conference summarized the development experience of ChinaFLUX for 20 years, exchanged a series of research results of ChinaFLUX in ecosystem carbon, nitrogen and water flux monitoring and carbon sink function assessment, and jointly discussed the new opportunities and challenges faced by China's flux observation career in the new era.
